Starting Point

  • Streamline Deutsche Banks global working environments through the creation of a new office concept, the db Smart Office, which would embrace modern concepts on space management and the utilization of new technologies.

 

Project aims

  • Develop the db smart office strategy in conjunction with DB.
  • Administer and evaluate a pilot launch at their Frankfurt headquarters.
  • Identify and set objectives on the main areas of change at the db Smart Office: innovation; economic and flexible use of office spaces and other areas; optimization of processes and structures; use of technologies to promote the movement and exchange of ideas; centralization of resources and help services; increase in space productivity; and standardization of management procedures and tools.

 

Scope of BICG’s involvement and work

  • Global strategic study on how the DB employees work, creating a Standard Way of Working, which took into account organizational, technological and spatial aspects.
  • Implementation of New Ways of Working, including, non-territorial seating, paperless offices, new technologies and value-added spaces.
  • Definition of a common methodology, global directions & standard tools for implementing and monitoring db Smart Office at a global level (db Toolkit).
  • Pilot implementations and roll-out in Europe (Frankfurt, Eschborn, London and Barcelona) and USA (New York & Chicago).
  • Communications and change management, including post implementation monitoring.
